Q: What are the goals of our outreach program?
A: To foster students' excitement in vision science, to promote interest for future participation in a related, academic field, and to allow all students the chance to learn about science through an interactive, accessible approach to advanced education and research.
Q: How much time do you need for a successful vision day?
A: We are flexible, but require between 2-3 hours from the time we arrive till when we can pack up our materials. Please see the timeline for more details.
Q: What do you need in the way of classroom space?
A: Ideally, we will need a large room to do our demonstrations that involve all of the students participating, and several smaller, nearby rooms for students to participate in the demo modules in small groups.
Q: How many of our students can participate in your outreach program?
A: The more the merrier! We'd love to have as many participants as time and space will allow when we come to visit your school for vision day.
Q: What will our students be learning?
A: For more detailed information about our program, how it is organized and some of the demos you can expect, please see our overview section for teachers and students.
